DOCUMENTARY - LOCATIONS - CATFISH MERCHANT

Choosing our locations needed to be accurate for the feel of the piece, we didn't want anywhere to be too stiff and non-colourful.
We have 5 Locations.

  • University for the creative arts.
After doing a recce at the university, Taz choice this area to film as the lighting gives a studio feel and look for the interview, meaning that we will need lighting and the background with the clothes is what we will have behind the shot.
We need to make sure that the camera is not seen in the reflection of the glass and need to be aware of human traffic and echo noise.
We will try to avoid as much as this as possible by putting signs up saying 'filming in progress'.

  • Parana Caffee - Strood.
  • This Cafe is the location of the presenter interview. It stands out with it's 'Posh' look, the black leather seats and the lighting reflect well for the dialogue in which will be received.

  • Bromley Brides - West Wickham
This location is what we are using for our re-enactment for Katie's case study.
Visually this location is stunning, with its rich colours and style, we will have Katie trying on dresses here, the idea is that she can't afford the dresses, so this is a perfect stylistic example of the richness.
The lighting is also enough for the shots that we intend to get.

  • My house - walk- in wardrobe

This location is TBC as looking at the space now it may be a tad too small to film in but I will set-up the camera myself and do my PTC and also do the PTC at the Cafe. The location could work in the Wardrobe for Misé-en-scene

  • Katie's house - (No images)
We are using Katie's house for the re-enactment of her case study when the parcel arrives and when she is searching for a dress online. I haven't obtained any images of her house but will upload when possible.
