Set in and around the corridors of power, Bodyguard tells the fictional story of David Budd, a heroic but volatile war veteran now working as a Specialist Protection Officer for the Royalty and Specialist Protection Branch of London's Metropolitan Police Service. When he is assigned to protect the ambitious and powerful Home Secretary Julia Montague, whose politics stand for everything he despises, Budd finds himself torn between his duty and beliefs. Responsible for her safety, is he actually her biggest threat?

REVIEW AND OBSERVATIONS

I thought that the opening scene of David Bud on the train felt tence from the off, as he was concerned about activitys that where happening around him and showing that he had his kids with him made the feel as if was a vunerable state of affairs.

Throughout the film we see the different lighting used to show different feels of Davids life, for example when he was at work all was sunny and bright yet when he was at home the room was dark.

David also demonstrated different domineers, at work he was stern, polite and professional, when he was at home he drank and was constantly calling his wife.

From the first episode we are yet to find out what was so bad that caused a rifted between David and his wife because he is portrayed to be a hero of the start of the episode, he is a likable character, yet we also see that he is a troubled character.

I personally  found the first episode to be very interesting because there seems to be a hidden agenda and a plot that makes the audience want to find out more about what David's real intentions are.

I will defiantly want to see more.

How has the bodyguard influenced my work ? (updated on the 10/12/18)
The bodyguard touched upon a sensitive subject of terrorism and was executed well with an amazing performance and location, my story was also about a sensitive subject about cancer so i also was looking at performance as well as set and what is in it. The opening sequence of the first episode was filmed in one location as my short was. I looked at how the camera's where positioned in the toilet cubical of the first scene and used this as a guideline to get close shots of my actors, because of the nature of my film it was also important to get those emotions up close and personal.
